If you have been reading this ongoing series, first thank you, second, I love horror games. The Resident Evil franchise holds a special place in my gaming memories. After all, Resident Evil 2 and my love of zombies brought me back into gaming after being off it some years ago. RE2 remains one of my personal favorite games of all time. But as I had been in a retro-gaming mood, I had been collecting Nintendo GameCube games as of lately as I had discovered earlier that the system did have a few games of interest to me. This being that I only owned this system earlier for a small amount of time for a particular reason. A reason I will return to later.
At its pinnacle, the Resident Evil franchise was once considered to be the staple of the term “Survival Horror”. But over the past few entries, Capcom seems to have made it a point to move the series into a more action-orientated direction. While some praised this new direction with breathing new life into the games and changing its gameplay dramatically, it naturally divided its fans – specifically those who wished the series would return to its horror roots. Now Capcom has released Resident Evil 6, a game that appears it wants to be more than it actually is and unfortunately doesn’t deliver were it truly wants. (more…)
To say or explain the journey which the characters in Telltale’s series based in the world of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead have gone through just past the midway point of this five part series is easy, yet difficult. To say emotional is simple, but to convey more into that is the difficult part. Horror, sadness, hopelessness and a bit of joy would just be a small fraction of what would need to be said. And now Episode 4 has finally been released to have us experience the next part of this terrific series. (more…)
We all face choices in life every day, albeit some more difficult than others at times. It’s said that when we are at our lowest, that our true nature of who we really are comes out. But when the time truly comes, are truly sure that you are prepared to do what needs to be done? To quote n’ quote, “pull the trigger”? Because that is the feeling you could get after playing the latest entry of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead. After playing this entry, I feel this part of the story truly leaves a mark and sets the standard of dramatic games where other previous games of this genre could only strive to get too. (more…)
