Looking back now, 2011 was a fantastic year for video games. One of the best probably. Batman Arkham City. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Portal 2. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword among many others.

But one, in particular, became one of my favorite games of all time. Dark Souls. Developed by FromSoftware, it is a game that has now often been considered one of the greatest video games of all time. It has become so influential that more than dozens of other games have tried to copy it, or part of it, in one way or another.  

FromSoftware additionally created Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III. Each game within the series has become popular for figuring out lore, characters’ backstories, and deeper connections than simply shown on screen.

Browsing YouTube some time ago, I found masterful, cinematic videos of each game titled “Fate” for Dark Souls, “Curse” for Dark Souls 2, and “Humanity” for Dark Souls 3. Each video, done by creator ‘ThePerryGod‘ beautifully & emotionally goes through parts of each game. Chronicling the journey for each lead character of each game. This is especially special if you’ve played each game.

Nevertheless, everyone who has heard of the series and has or has not played these games should watch them.
