The Legend of Zelda series is something that has been with me, whether I knew it or not, for some time. After straying away from Nintendo products for so long, Zelda would be the one that would bring me back to purchase a Nintendo console after all those years. So when I heard about this book, a retrospect in a sense of the series, it definitely grabbed my interest and made me think of a question that I now ask you; you may know the series of The Legend of Zelda, but do you know The Legend of Zelda?

Some people collect coins, other stamps. I collect video games.

At the time of this writing, I can say that have really become bored with a majority of the newer games being released right now. And while playing video games on my PlayStation 3 and PC are great, there’s something about the games now coming out lately that just don’t grab my attention. While most are excited with the newest HD/3D graphics or motion-controls, I feel like something is just missing from them sometimes. I’ve actually canceled a majority of the pre-orders I had for some newly released games, and with the reception, some have received, it seems I might have saved a couple a good amount of money. So lately, I’ve been going back to my past. Way further than before.

PlayStation One games are probably the easiest thing for me to collect right now. While I would love to begin buying old 8 and 16-bit cartridge games such as Mario and the Seven Stars, Star Tropics, or the original Streets of Rage collection, I sadly wouldn’t have anything to play them on. The back connection where you insert the power adapter for my SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) broke about a year and a half after I originally had it and my original Nintendo was lost years ago. I have heard of third-party systems that play multiple series, or generations of games in one machine, but I am always cautious about them. For the relatively somewhat cheap prices they sell for sometimes, I wonder exactly how much of that money is actually put towards quality. But I’ve been really wanting to play some of those old classics again.

Resident Evil 6 Review

At its pinnacle, the Resident Evil franchise was once considered to be the staple of the term “Survival Horror”. But over the past few entries, Capcom seems to have made it a point to move the series into a more action-orientated direction. While some praised this new direction with breathing new life into the games and changing its gameplay dramatically, it naturally divided its fans – specifically those who wished the series would return to its horror roots. Now Capcom has released Resident Evil 6, a game that appears it wants to be more than it actually is and unfortunately doesn’t deliver were it truly wants.
